A Disappointing Way for the 2022 iPad to Be the Same as the Original iPad

Rumor has it that the next iPad will launch at an event in October, and we’re expecting a major revamp. One of the key changes was the much-anticipated removal of the home button, bringing the entry-level iPad model into line with the iPad Air, iPad Pro, and pretty much every high-end iPhone Apple sells, plus the iPhone SE, which is in the bargain basement.

New rumors suggest iPad 2022 model, the tenth generation of the iPad tablet, will have a new look but will keep the old and familiar button. This leak comes from a bulletin sent by the Twitter leaker ApplePro leaks (opens in new tab), available by subscription only. Presumably this means the bezel around the display won’t shrink much. We’ve also heard that the sides of the device will be flattened, making it look more like the iPad Air in profile.
